What a natural lawn costs you every year
Move the slider to your lawn size. These are estimates for a Southern California yard, and every assumption is printed beside them so you can check it against your own water bill.
Where those numbers come from
A natural lawn in this climate takes roughly 35 gallons per square foot per year to stay green. Water is figured at about a penny a gallon. Mowing is figured at about 36 mowings a year, at half an hour per thousand square feet.
These are planning estimates, not a quote. Your water district, your soil and how green you like your lawn all move the number. We walk the yard and measure properly before anyone talks price.

Contoured greens with true roll, cut into the space you already have. They sit alongside planting, rock and hardscape so the yard still reads as a garden, not a driving range.

It holds up to the dog and the kids
Dogs love it and they think it is real. Urine flushes through the drainage holes when it rains or when the lawn is hosed off, and solid waste is cleaned the same way it is on natural grass. Around play sets the surface stays even and soft, with no mud and no bare patches.

The things people ask before they commit
What is the life expectancy of artificial grass? +
Our turf comes with the best warranties in the industry. We offer a 15 year manufacturer warranty on all products, and the life expectancy is 30 years under regular use.
Will the sun fade it? +
Fading is not the issue. The one thing to watch is energy efficient windows. Some of them throw a magnified reflection strong enough to melt sprinkler heads, kiddie pools and other plastics, and synthetic turf in the direct path of that reflection can melt too. If you have energy efficient windows, call the manufacturer and ask how to remedy it. Tinting the windows is usually enough.
How does it stay in place? +
Infill material, usually sand, is brushed into the top of the grass and adds weight. The edges are pinned down with 6 inch non corrosive spikes spaced approximately 3 feet apart.
Does it get hotter than natural grass? +
Yes. Synthetic grass does not have the same natural cooling capacity, so it runs warmer. That is the trade for no mowing, no watering and no weeding.
Is it pet friendly? +
Dogs love it and they think it is real. Urine is not a problem, it flushes through the drainage holes and the drainage system when it rains or when the lawn is hosed off. Solid waste is cleaned the same way it is on natural grass. We can also put down a natural deodorizer, zeolite, once the grass is installed.
What maintenance does it need? +
Very little. Debris like leaves and twigs comes off easily with a leaf blower.
